CHINA – A delusion of becoming Superpower
India and China relation had been steadily improving since Prime minister Rajiv Gandhi’s visit to China in 1988 , the first by an Indian Prime minister after Nehru’s visit in 1954. In 1993 during PM Narasimha Rao’s visit the two countries signed an agreement to maintain peace and tranquility along the Line of Actual control. Three years later during Chinese President visit to India confidence building measure along the border areas was signed. This upward trajectory in bilateral relations continued even after Prime Minister Narendra Modi came in power. But after the dokhlam standoff and the ongoing Chinese aggression on Ladakh and Galwan valley India-China relations has gone to a new low.
But it’s interesting fact to know whoever has trusted china blindly has been back stabbed by the China Communist Party whether we talk of Indo-china war in 1962 to on going US-China trade war. China and India were Economically equal till 1970’s but then after China has tremendously emerged as a new economic as well as military superpower. Whereas India has not been able to match the Chinese. India has always tried to have friendly relations with its neighbors including Pakistan and China.
Since 2014 when PM modi came in power India’s image has become stronger in the world arena and this definitely hurts China. On the other hand China has never looked at India as an Equal, rather as an upstart wannabe , it should not aspire to be an influential Asian, much less a global player. But what appears to be bothering China is India’s impressive and consistent economic performance over the last decade. India has become an attractive economic partner for a large number of countries, which are beginning to look at India seriously as an alternate to China. The rest of the world now no longer regards China as the only player in town. Although India’s economy is less then half of China, But if India Keeps growing steadily even if not spectacularly and China’s economic falters. The gap between China and India will narrow. India is the only other Asian country with the size , resources, demographic profile and all round capabilities to pose a credible challenge to China’s dominance over Asia and rest of the world. And the pace at which India is growing is hurting CCP’s agenda and now they have started to take India more seriously and also try to be aggressive in border areas which is being well takled by the present government and China should get out of there dream of 1962. This is INDIA 2020 and we’re much stronger and determined to protect India’s Sovereignty and Integrity.
